AWARD CEREMONY 2021

The 2021 award ceremony took place as part of the 14th German-African Energy Forum of the German-African Business Association on 01 June 2021 in Hamburg. In terms of content, the conference provided a suitable setting for the common focus of both award-winning projects: Resource Conservation and Climate Protection.

The conference is usually attended by up to 500 participants, including an average of ten African government delegations and leading energy companies from Germany, Europe and Africa. This year, as a hybrid event, it welcomed 50 guests on site, while several hundred joined the panel discussions and presentations on “Africa’s Energy Leading to a Smart, Green & Inclusive Economic Transformation” virtually. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation was a strategic partner, and sponsors included the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Morocco, the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the World Energy Council Germany. AWARD CEREMONY 2019

From February 11 to 13, 2019, the award ceremony took place in the Ghanaian capital Accra as part of the German-African Business Summit (GABS). After the great success of the first two summits, held in Berlin in 2015 and in Nairobi in 2017, this third conference provided German and African business and political decision-makers with an excellent platform for dialogue. The conference focused on Africa’s economic potential and future trends in German-African cooperation. The Business Summit was supported by the Sub-Saharan Africa Initiative of German Business (SAFRI) and its host organizations, the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Federation of Wholesale, Foreign Trade, Services (BGA) and the German-African Business Association (AV) in cooperation with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK) in sub-Saharan Africa.
